God's work in our lives

In a recent forum topic we were talking about God changing lives and the point was made that many people change their lives for the better without a belief in God. I replied with the following and a friend said I should repost my response here.

Of course lives can be changed through other means but that does not mean God isn't changing ours. That being said, faith in Jesus Christ is not going to wipe clean trouble in your life. My life is not immune from hard times, what has changed is my view of life. With the blessed assurance that God is in control I can rest. With the promise that this is not all there is, and that I am a child of God my life has purpose. My love for the people around me has given me the drive to make my life a living sacrifice to God so I can help to bring as many people to Christ as humanly possible. The change in me is not external (though it does show through) it's like the chemical makeup from my head to my toes has turned inside out and backwards.Circumstances may change for the better in peoples lives all the time without Christ but this kind of change in me, only the one true God could manifest.

For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Romans 8:6

KJV good for your health

"Just as physical activity keeps your body strong, mental activity keeps your mind sharp and agile. One way to do this is to continually challenge yourself by learning new skills. If you continue to learn and challenge yourself, your brain continues to grow, literally. An active brain produces new connections between nerve cells that allow cells to communicate with one another. This helps your brain store and retrieve information more easily, no matter what your age."

One more reason to always use your King James Version. What better way to exercise your brain. I like the fact that sometimes I don't understand the meaning of a word or phrase in my Bible. I've learned much more about my Bible when forced to look into verses a little further and more often than I would with a modern translation. One of the things I have found fascinating is finding out the meanings of much of the Hebrew and Greek words used. Many times I have had to go back and read the reference verses to understand, and that has given me a much greater appreciation of the miracle that this Book written over a period of 1600 years can tie so well together.
